World University Games – 2019

World University Games – 2019 was held on 03rd of July 2019 to 14th July 2019 in Napoli, Italy. The World University Games (Universiade) is organized by the International University Sports Federation (FISU) as an international multi-sports event for university athletes. The World University Games (Universiade) is the largest multi-sport event in the world apart from the Olympic Games, which are held once every two odd years in different cities. World University Games – 2019 was consisting of 15 compulsory sports and 3 optional sports. Nearly 9000 athletes and officials from 118 countries were participated in this multi sports event. Mr. Laxman Wijesuriya, IPE of University of Moratuwa participated for event as the Head of Delegation of Sri Lanka Team and Mr. G.G.U. Saman Kumara, Actg. Director of Physical Education University of Kelaniya participated as the Deputy Head of Delegation. Fifteen officials and fifty one athletes represented Sri Lanka at World University Games – 2019. We were participated for Athletics, Swimming, Table Tennis, Taekwondo and Tennis.
